About Leslie Summerfield, LMFT, MBA

Leslie Summerfield, LMFT, MBA, is a licensed marriage and family therapist committed to providing a compassionate and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools to create meaningful change.

Leslie works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs, personality, and goals. She is especially passionate about helping her clients through transitions. Leslie's style is warm, active, and collaborative, and her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches.

Leslie also specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and ARFID. She has worked across the full continuum of care—including residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient settings. Leslie values collaborating with physicians, dietitians, psychiatrists, and families to support each client’s lasting recovery.

Before becoming a therapist, Leslie earned an MBA from Santa Clara University and spent many years in the business world. This experience gives her a practical understanding of workplace stress, career transitions, leadership challenges, and balancing the many demands of life.

Fun Facts

Before becoming a therapist, Leslie worked in Human Resources and even owned a consignment clothing business, which reflects her love of clothes and fashion. She also has a big heart for animals and is heavily involved in dog rescue.
