About Dr. Alicia del Prado
Dr. Alicia del Prado is an award-winning psychologist, published author, and the founder of del Prado Counseling & Consulting. She specializes in helping professionals, parents, and university students live their best lives and become the best version of themselves. With almost 25 years of clinical experience, Dr. del Prado has expertise helping clients with anxiety, depression, relationship problems, career issues, caregiver stress, trauma, and grief.

Known for her thoughtful blend of analytical insight and compassionate care, she draws from cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and multicultural frameworks. Dr. del Prado works across the lifespan—whether doing play therapy with a child one hour or processing chronic illness with an adult the next. Her approach is warm, grounded, and purpose-driven, rooted in helping clients thrive with clarity and confidence.​

Fun Facts
Dr. del Prado co-founded the Asian American Psychological Association's Division on Multiracial and Adopted Asian Americans. She has a dog named Jack and loves riding her bike.
Education
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University in 2007. I worked at U.C. Berkeley from 2006-2008 where I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship. Prior to graduate school, I received my B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2000.
