About Dr. Alicia del Prado
I conduct therapy from a cognitive behavioral and integrated interpersonal orientation while also attending to the individual needs of each unique client and integrating culturally appropriate evidence-based practices. I offer individual therapy that is based on a collaborative therapist-client relationship and aim to provide a supportive, genuine, and empathic therapy environment.
I help clients meet their goals by focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as well as exploring the importance of relationships, family, and cultural contexts in relation to clients’ presenting concerns. I have worked at counseling centers at universities, such as University of California, Berkeley and Washington State University.
Education
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University in 2007. I worked at U.C. Berkeley from 2006-2008 where I completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship. Prior to graduate school, I received my B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2000.
